Michael Kors is perhaps best known for the handbags he designs. The brand name first entered the fashion world in 1981, specializing in women’s chic sportswear. The collection was sold in major New York department stores. Now Michael Kors boutiques are located on Madison Avenue and in Beverly Hills, along with those in Hong Kong and Dubai.
The Michael Kors women’s accessories line did not emerge until 2001; the men’s line followed nearly a year later. The latest collection, Michael Michael Kors, was launched in 2004. Many Hollywood A-list celebrities, including Jennifer Lopez and Charlize Theron are fans of Michael Kors.
