New York-based designer Marc Jacobs developed his first collection in 1986. The Marc Jacobs International Company was started by the designer and his business partner Robert Duffy. They collaborated with numerous designers in the ‘90s, including Perry Ellis and Louis Vuitton. The first Marc Jacobs store opened in 1997 in New York; more than 100 more have followed worldwide.
